WINDOW TINTING INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1.
Measure: Measure glass and cut the film 12mm larger than actual
surface.
2.
Spray: Spray glass and the Solarstat “EazyTint” film
thoroughly with a glass cleaner before applying Solarstat
“EazyTint”.
NEVER INSTALL ON A DRY SURFACE. FOR EASIER HANDLING SPRAY THE SURFACE OF THE FILM APPLYING.
This will prevent the film from clinging to itself.
3.
Apply: Starting at the top, apply Solarstat “EazyTint”to
the window. There is no front or back to the film so either side can
be applied to the glass. Position and smooth out most wrinkles and
large bubbles until the film overlaps the frame. If the film begins to
cling to itself apply additional window cleaner.
4.
Squeegee: Spray the surface of the film with window cleaner and
squeegee out the excess air and moisture from between the film and the
glass.
5.
Trim: Allow approx. 20-30 minutes of drying time before
trimming. Use a straight edge ruler to press Solarstat “EazyTint”
to the inside edge of the window frame. Leave approximately 1mm of
glass exposed around the perimeter of the window to allow the film to
properly adhere to the surface of the glass.
6.
Touch Up: Spray the surface of the film again and squeegee the
edges firmly against the glass. Any excess moisture should evaporate
within a few days. During the first 10 hours after installation
Solarstat “EazyTint” should not be disturbed.
VEHICLE
WINDOW TINTING INSTALLATION
ENSURE
YOU CHECK WITH YOUR LOCAL AUTHORITIES FOR RESTRICTIONS REGARDING THE
USE OF WINDOW TINT ON AUTOMOBILES. THERE ARE PENALTIES FOR FAILING TO
COMPLY WITH WINDOW TINTING REGULATIONS.
NOTE:
Do not allow the film to contact the “black dot matrix” of any
window as the film must only contact the glass.
Follow
Steps 1-5 in the Application Instructions. When aligning and trimming,
Solarstat “EazyTint” for vehicle application, it is recommended to
first work on the outside of the vehicle’s windows. This allows for
easier access to windows during trimming. For roll-up windows, leave
an extra 10-15mm along the bottom edge. This will be necessary later
to prevent the film from being peeled back during window operation.
After
final trimming to size, remove the film from the outside and apply to
the inside of the vehicle, repeating Steps 3 and 4. Using a credit
card or butter knife, slide the 10-15mm excess below the bottom rubber
gasket before aligning the film to the sides and top of the window.
DO
NOT ROLL THE WINDOW UP OR DOWN FOR 48-60 HOURS FOLLOWING APPLICATION
TO ALLOW THE MOISTURE TO EVAPORATE BELOW THE RUBBER GASKET.
GENERAL
INFORMATION
·
If
bubbles occur at any time during installation, simply peel back the
affected area and re apply. Solarstat “EazyTint” can be removed,
repositioned or re applied at any given time.
·
If
you intend to Solarstat “EazyTint” seasonally, it is recommended
that you label and save the paper and packaging for storage. Simply
release the static bond by getting a fingernail under a corner of the
film and peel from window. Re roll the film in the appropriately
marked paper and place it in the packaging for storage.
·
Solarstat
“EazyTint” can be applied to most windows with ordinary household
window cleaner. If applying the film to plastic, it is recommended
that you check with the manufacturer before using any ammonia-based
window cleaner.
·
After
installation, Solarstat “EazyTint” may appear slightly cloudy or
tiny pinhead bubbles may appear. This condition will improve as the
moisture dries between the film and the glass over the next 10-14
days.
