Spray
the glass liberally with a soapy water solution before applying your
window decoration. A
sufficient amount of moisture is required between the decoration and
glass to give an even
appearance once dried.
Peel
the window decoration from the paper backing and position it on the
surface of the glass. Use
your hands to smooth out any large bubbles. It is necessary to place
the side of the decoration
that is on the backing paper to the glass. If the patterns are to face
each other, apply one to the
interior and one to the exterior of the surface.
NEVER
INSTALL ON A DRY SURFACE. For easier handling, spray the surface of
the window
decoration after removing it from the paper backing and before
applying. This will prevent the film
from cling to itself.
Spray
the surface of the window decoration with a soapy water solution.
Using a soft, rubber tipped
squeegee, squeegee out the excess air and moisture. DO NOT USE A HARD,
PLASTIC TIPPED
SQUEEGEE, AS IT MAY SCRATCH THE SURFACE OF THE WINDOW DECORATION.
Wipe
dry with a lint free cloth. If bubbles appear between the window
decoration and the surface,
repeat Step 4. Any excess moisture should begin to evaporate within 24
hours.
Privacy
Follow
steps 1-5 above. The outer surface of the film is a matte finish and
the underside of the film
is a glossy finish. Make sure that the glossy side of the film is
placed on the surface of the glass.
Position the film as desired and use your hands to smooth out any
large bubbles.
After
you have squeegeed out the excess air and moisture, use a ruler or
straight edge to trim any
excess film. It is recommended that you leave 1/16” space around the
perimeter of the window;
making sure that the film does not touch any part of the window frame
for the film to adhere
properly to the surface. During the first 12 hours after installation,
the film should not be disturbed.
It
is recommended that you wait 30 minutes before trimming to avoid
movement of the film that can
leave a jagged edge.
Crystal
Privacy Before
applying the film to glass, the clear cellophane backing must be removed
from the material.
Follow the directions below to remove the cellophane backing
Go
to the corner of the film and attach a piece of tape to the finished
(embossed) side. Allow
about one inch of the tape to extend over the edge of the film.
Repeat
step 1 on the same corner of the back (cellophane) side of the film.
Allow
the tape to stick to itself by approximately one inch past the edge of
the film. Press the tape
together tightly.
Slowly
pull the two pieces of tape apart from each other. The clear
cellophane should adhere to
the piece of tape for removal.
Follow
the applications instructions indicate above to complete your
installation.
General
Information
If
at any time bubbles do occur, simply peel back the area affected and
re-apply. Bubbles that
are visible only from the glass side are due to insufficient moisture
during application; spray a
generous amount of soapy water solution to fully saturate the glass
and material before squeegee.
It
is recommend that you save the paper and/or packing for removal and
storage.
Clean
and maintain your window film with any household window cleaner and a
lint free cloth.
